Kinzie Finds the Value in Herself

When Kinzie first came to ITG this summer, she was unsure of herself and hesitated to interact with other participants. She recalls that she was “Shy at first,” and “didn’t know how to talk to people,” but as she has come out of her shell and is practicing her social skills, she says “now I do talk to people.”

As she participates in various activities, Kinzie is exploring her own values and discovering what is important to her.

Kinzie is inspired by the different jobs she’s encountered though outings, community service projects, and participants in our vocational programs.

One day I’d like to get a job, and the GRACE program has taught me that I can.

Kinzie also now believes it’s important to make friends, be kind to others, and be confident. Her advice to us all is “just be yourself, and treat others the way you want to be treated.”

Generous support from people like you helps ITG participants like Kinzie to see the value in themselves, growing in the confidence that God made them and loves them.
