Connie Cervantez has been working with our participants for 13 years. And through these past years she has grown tremendously.
She first started as a coach, but has since become our Administrative Assistant, making our programs happen behind the scenes. Not only has she worked hard, she has also made so many lasting connections with both our participants and staff.
Work is important to Connie because seeing the difference you make in people’s lives is something special. Connie knows that not everybody has someone to listen to so when they come to ITG, she makes sure they do.
Connie sees the value in the work she does and sees how it’s altered her personal day-to-day life.
“It’s changed a lot for me, it’s made me open my eyes and see a whole different side of the world”
Only 2 years after Connie started working with our participants, Mark Sotelo started his own business, Left Coast Kick, a custom apparel brand.
As a Limitless participant he’s had access to all the machines necessary to help him produce his products, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t have his own challenges.
Because of his physical disabilities, Mark can’t stand for long periods of time and has some difficulty with some of the machinery. He is looking forward to accessibility tools that ITG hopes to soon provide him so he can be more hands on with his business.
Mark encourages people to get involved with Independence Through GRACE because their contributions won’t be wasted.
“I think people with disabilities they sometimes feel like they don’t have the same opportunities as able-bodied people”
